The Upload Battle of the School Bands.....
In a school band? Aged over 14?
WE'D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
The first Upload Charity Music Festival was successfully staged this summer. Some of the region's best musical talents were out on display - top notch guitarists,vocalists and peformers raising hundreds of pounds for homeless charity Shelter.
Alongside its role as a fundraiser for regional charities though, the Upload project seeks to showcase as many up and coming regional bands and/or solo musicians as possible.
To which end, we are planning to offer a slot on next year's show to the best school band in the East Midlands region we can find.
Genre is really not important. You could be Rock, Metal, Thrash, Doom, Riverdance, Euro-disco, Hip-hop, Trip-hop, Trad Jazz, Pan Pipers; Skiffle even. We honestly don't care.
All we're looking for are young people with bags and bags of talent, who have the songs and showmanship to ROCK a venue full of paying punters.
If successful, you'll be playing on a bill packed with phenomenal musicians and bands, for 6 hours of great music.
So then, if you're in a band at school, and would like to perform at Nottingham's famed Rescue Rooms on Saturday April 2nd 2011, and are 14 years old or over, then we'd like to hear from you.
We'll be holding open auditions later in the year, so all you'll need to do is turn up to one of them, plug in, and proceed to play everyone else off the stage. Simple as that really.
