Description:
The Miss Nottingham 2010 finalists have now been chosen.
A group of 30 talented, charismatic and of course beautiful young women have been found from all over Nottingham and will now go head to head in a bid to reach the Miss England grand finals.
Beauty pagents have come on along way since the 1960’s sterotypes and in 2010 the intention will be to find an ambassador for the city who is not only attractive but also has intelligence, a great personality and someone who can inspire other young women to pursue their dreams.
Chloe Jones (20) a student who lost a leg in a hit-and-run accident is just one of many young women making a bid for the crown. Chloe would like to increase the public's exposure to disabled people and said she was inspired by former model Heather Mills.
Friends from Hucknall Astra Darington (19) and Lauren Richardson (20) both made it into the regional final. Astra, who lives on Ruffs Drive and is studying English language and literature at the University of Sheffield, said: "I entered to prove that it is possible to have brains and beauty and that today's Miss England competitors have to have substance as well as style”
Judging will take place at the Miss Nottingham live final which will be held on Sunday 2nd May at the Crowne Plaza. The event will be presented by Kate Solomans of ModelZed Promotions and four judges including editors from Guide2Nottingham will crown Miss Nottingham.
The public will represent the 5th judge and can vote by phone or by text for their favourite. For full details of how to vote and images of all the contestants click here.
Public voting is open now and closes on May 2 at 8 pm.
