Description:
Punk rockers Ash have been confirmed to headline Headstock in September. The festival has been put on to help raise money for an area which is still struggling to recover from the collapse of the mining industry. After the miner’s strike in 1984, a succession of pit closures devastated the local area and put a huge hole in the local economy. However Headstock aims to put a smile back on the faces of those who have been affected.
Headstock will take place in Newstead and Annesley Country park near Nottingham on the 11th of September, with a host of names already confirmed. Irish act Ash will be flying in from South Africa especially for the festival which hopes to offer the people of Nottingham great value for money. Also putting in a performance will be Field music, Edward II and Penguin Cafe Orchestra.
The festival will also host two dance arenas playing a range of dance genres including techno, drum and bass, jungle and more. However, there will also be a whole range of things for the family including a kids field and lots of food and drink. Those wanting to camp at the site can do so for £5.
