Nottingham could increase their bid in an effort to secure Peter Whittingham who plays for Cardiff City. Rumors have been circulation after Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies commented that he wanted five “stellar signings” to help give the team the best chance possible in the 2010-11 campaign.
Billy Davies was successful in helping Derby into the Premier League and is now determined to restore Forest to their former glory. Players that could help achieve this are Cardiff’s Peter Whittingham and Aston Villa defender Nicky Shorey.
However the £1.5 million bid for Whittingham has already been rejected by Cardiff. But Davies is still determined, he said: “If we want the play-offs, we need three to five stellar signings.”
If Forest wants to secure him, they will have to do so quickly. As the Champion’s top scorer last season, Whittingham is in high demand.
