Description:
Stapleford is sizable district on the outskirts of Nottingham with approximately 17,000 residents. Like many settlements on the outskirts of Nottingham it has been drawn into the expanse of the urban area. Though less distinguishable in a geographical sense, Stapleford and the surrounding settlements of Bramcote and Trowell have sill managed to preserve their own cultural identities.
Stapleford has a decent variety of shops including the usual range of bakers, butchers, banks, estate agents and so on. It also has great access to the M1 just to the west. Throughout the town you'll find reminders of its long history - for example the Saxon Cross at St Helen’s Church, thought to be the oldest Christian memorial in Nottingham.
Nearby Bramcote remains a green, leafy haven with an old-fashioned village feel, even though it's just off the busy A52. Bramcote Hills, on the other side of this road, has a busier atmosphere.
Stapleford is particularly good for young families due to the local school but a whole range of people live here. Commuters are attracted due easy access onto the M1 but this can also be a downside due to the noise pollution.
